The i-Fischer® DIST D-2892 CC / FISCHER® AUTODEST® 800 AC is a fully computer controlled unit of turn-key design, and ready for use after installation and commissioning. The system is fully housed and equipped with doors in the front and rear to satisfy safety requirements and to facilitate service aspects. The automatic fraction collector with 20 receivers includes a built-in internal balance for the determination of the fraction weight, while the separate volume follower system is used for discharging the fractions into the final receivers and the determination of the fraction volume as well as for the direct distillation rate control. The vacuum equipment and the control system are designed for highest accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of data. Also available are the i-Fischer® DIST D-2892 CC – 100 ltr, 150 ltr, 250 ltr, fully automated computerised distillation systems acc. to ASTM D-2892 equipped with a reboiler capacity of 100 ltr, 150 ltr respectively 250 ltr. All these units meet ASTM D2892 requierements especially the one related to %max of loss where their condenser with double cooling circuit really ensures losses less than 0.4% as per ASTM D2892.  



Summary of Test Method

On this method, a crude oil sample between 1 and 30L is weighed, a debutanization process is made to remove gases and then distillation at several pressures (atmospheric, 100,5 and 2mmHg) is performed and fractions are collected as per analysis requirements up to 400°C AET in a column of up to 18 theoretical plates. A reflux of 5:1 is maintained at all times except at lower pressures. Mass and density of each fraction are obtained and based on these data yields are calculated. Finally, TPB curves of mass or volume% vs AET are drawn.
